Send SMS tasks

You can create SMS tasks in SmartPush and send them to users who have subscribed to SMS notifications in your store. SMS can reach users in a timely manner than emails, allowing more consumers to know your promotional campaigns more quickly.

Since the same user may subscribe to your store’s emails and text messages at the same time, to avoid bombarding them with messages which might cause unsubscriptions and complaints, please pay attention when creating marketing campaigns, do not repeatedly send emails and text messages with the same promotion content to the same user in a short period of time.

The following is the complete process of creating and sending SMS tasks:

  1. Proceed to the SmartPush app, and select [Campaign] > [Campaign List] on the left menu. Click Create marketing campaign to continue.
  2. Select Create SMS under “SMS Marketing”.
  3. Select the recipient group(s), and whether to exclude specific customer groups.
  4. Fill in the content of the marketing SMS. Note: Each SMS is limited to 160 characters. You can find the character count and the number of messages to be sent at the bottom right of the preview area. You can also preview the SMS in the mobile version as well.
  5. If you need to insert a link into the message, please add spaces at the front and back of the link for better readability.
  6. SmartPush replaces all links in the message with a unique shortened URL, making links trackable and shorter. You can track the clicks of each link in the Data Report later. Since the format of the shortened URL in the preview is consistent with what recipients actually received, you can first preview the effect of the link in the message in the preview area on the right.
  7. According to local laws and regulations, if your recipients use the mobile number of the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, or Australia, it is mandatory to
    • Add the brand name prefix at the beginning of the text message. The name can be modified on the "Brand Info" page. Please note that the store name will be updated instantly for all current unsent campaigns, so please modify it carefully.
    • Automatically add "reply STOP to opt-out" at the end of the text message. After receiving the user's STOP reply, the system will unsubscribe the recipient from the list and no longer send them marketing text messages. In the preview area on the right, you can see the effect of adding/ removing the prompt in the message content in the mobile version.
  8. After setting the content, if you do not want to send the message immediately, you can click Save draft to save the campaign. If you need to send a test SMS, you can click Send test at the bottom right.
  9. To schedule your text message, click Next at the bottom right to enter the confirmation page.
  10. Double-check your recipient group and text message content of the SMS campaign are correct, and the system will automatically count all sending regions and corresponding numbers according to your recipient group.
  11. Select the sending method and date, and click Create to complete creating this SMS campaign.
  12. After sending, you can view the effect of your campaigns in the [Data Report] > [Campaign] in the left menu.

You can cancel and edit the content of the SMS task at any time before it is sent out.
