Understanding Validation Results

After validation, emails will be categorized into the following types:

Invalid Emails

These email addresses cannot reliably receive messages and should not be used for sending campaigns.

Characteristics:

  • Invalid syntax (incorrect email format)
  • Non-existent mailbox
  • Domain does not exist or does not accept mail

Recommendation: Remove these email addresses immediately to prevent bounce rates from increasing.

Note: For more details about what qualifies as an invalid email address, refer to the section "What Are Invalid Email Addresses?" at the end of this article.

High-Risk Emails

These email addresses pose a significant risk to your sender reputation.

Characteristics:

  • Identified as spam traps
  • Temporary or disposable email addresses
  • Known abusive or risky domains

Recommendation: Remove these email addresses before sending any campaigns.

Low-Risk Emails

These email addresses may be deliverable but present potential risks.

Characteristics:

  • Domain warnings
  • Mailbox status uncertainty
  • Temporary server-related issues

Recommendation: Consider segmenting these contacts and monitor performance before including them in large-scale campaigns.

Healthy Emails

These email addresses have passed validation and are considered safe for sending.

Characteristics:

  • Valid format and active mailbox
  • No identified risk factors

Recommendation: You can continue sending campaigns to these email addresses as usual.

What Are Invalid Email Addresses?

An email address is considered invalid if it cannot reliably receive messages due to issues such as:

  • Invalid Syntax: Missing "@" symbol or incorrect formatting.
  • Non-Existent Mailbox: The mailbox does not exist on the recipient’s server.
  • Domain Issues: The domain is inactive or lacks proper DNS records.
  • Mailbox Full: Storage quota exceeded.
  • Typographical Errors: Misspellings such as "gmial.com" instead of  "gmail.com".
  • Disposable Addresses: Temporary emails intended for short-term use.
  • Spam Traps: Addresses used by ISPs to detect spam senders.

Removing invalid and risky addresses helps:

  • Maintain a healthy subscriber list
  • Improve deliverability
  • Protect your sender reputation
  • Increase campaign ROI
