The first step to achieve better delivery results is to authenticate the custom brand domain.
The benefits of having a custom brand domain
- Improve sender reputation and increase the chance of entering customers’ inbox
Completing the authentication means that the custom brand domain has been verified, which is more likely to gain the trust of ISPs, thus increasing the sender's reputation. The higher the reputation, the higher the chance of marketing emails entering the inbox.
- Enhance brand visibility
When a custom brand domain is sent to your subscriber’s mailbox, it can display brand information inside the inbox, thus promoting brand visibility. Completing BIMI authentication can also help your brand stand out among your competitors.
- Better email performance
Generally, marketing email campaigns are more likely to be identified as spam by ISPs compared to automated emails. Therefore, differentiating marketing emails from automated emails is a risk-reducing solution. You can achieve this by authenticating multiple domains or subdomains for sending emails in different scenarios.
Steps to set up a custom brand domain
Step 1. Go to [Settings] > [Sender domain] on SmartPush and click Add domain.
Step 2: Enter the domain to be authenticated and the logo (optional)
If you upload the logo: The TXT records for SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and BIMI authentication will be generated automatically. The domain administrator needs to add these TXT records to the domain management backend to authenticate the four domains.
If you do not upload a logo: The TXT records for SPF, DKIM, and DMARC authentication will be generated automatically. The domain administrator needs to add these TXT records to the domain management backend to authenticate the three domains. However, the DMARC policy will be set as "P=none."
Notes:
- You need to add the TXT records we provided to your domain management backend, which means you have to obtain permission to access and manage the domain.
- It may take up to 24 hours for the new DNS settings to take effect. You can continue to authenticate the verification records on the "Domain Management" page.
- We recommend using the same domain as your store's website: @storename.com.
- If you have more than 300,000 contacts, we suggest authenticating multiple subdomains to separate the email sending. E.g., @info.storename.com, @news.storename.com, @email.storename.com, etc.
Step 3: Set up the sender email - an authenticated domain name supports adding up to 3 usernames.
Finally, you can see all the domain names you have successfully authenticated on the "Domain Management" page. Don’t forget to set the sender domains for marketing campaigns and automated emails.
