Failed Credit Card Payment - Reasons and Solutions

There are many factors that lead to failed payments. When it happens, you can first ensure that the following information is entered correctly:

  • Cardholder name
  • Card number
  • Expiration date
  • CVV (security code)
  • Credit card type (currently supports Visa, MasterCard, JCB, American Express, Union Pay)

If your information is correct and the problem still persists, then there is a high chance that your payment is declined by the credit card issuer. When the issuer receives the payment request, it will automatically analyze a series of information before authorizing the payment. If the authorization is not successful, the payment will be terminated. Below are the most common errors:

  • Insufficient balance
  • Reached daily transaction limit
  • Exceeded each transaction limit
  • Unsupported transaction type; please contact the issuer
  • Unauthorized payment; please contact the issuer or try again later

Nevertheless, there are still many factors as to why the card is declined. Most of the time, it is hard to know the exact reason right away. If your payment failures are not as specified above, it is highly recommended that you contact the card issuer or change to another payment method.
