Enabling Pop-Ups for Abandoned Cart Recovery

SmartPush offers a rich library of pop-up templates for abandoned cart recovery. To activate one, follow the general steps below:

  1. In SmartPush, go to Popups & Forms > Template Library.
  2. In the left column of filters, choose Abandoned checkout retention under Theme.  
  3. Select a desired template.
  4. Making your edits in the editor. Learn more about customization in the next section.
  5. Once you finish customization, click Save & Exit to save your edits. Click Activate to enable the popup.

When a Customer is About to Leave the Product Page

With the power of AI, the system can predict when a customer is likely to leave a product page without proceeding to the shopping cart and display a pop-up to retain them. To incentivize customers and create a sense of urgency, you can choose a template countdown timers or discount codes. Recommended customizations are as follows:

  • In the Push tab:
    • Push time: Select Click Add to cart.
    • Show page: Select the pages for pop-up display from the drop-down menu, such as product details pages and product collection pages. Do not select the shopping cart and checkout page.     
    • Display rules: Select the customer behavior on page based on which you’d like to display the pop-up. Choose Exit intention to let the system do the work for you.
    • Stop-push condition: To avoid disturbing customer experience, choose the condition based on which pop-ups will not appear (customer action or counts of appearance).
