Setting up Quiet Hours

With stricter regulations imposed by countries, regions, and local carriers, SMS messaging now faces tighter controls to protect customer rights. One such measure prohibits sending marketing SMS messages during quiet hours. The specific requirements vary by location, with the United States and Canada imposing particularly stringent regulations. Excessive complaints may lead to your sender number being blocked. This article explains how to set up quiet hours in SmartPush to help you reduce the risk of message filtering and ensure compliance.

Setting up Quiet Hours

Quiet hours are the period during which your SMS messages won’t be sent to the recipients. By default, the period runs from 10 PM to 8 AM the next day based on the customer's time zone. You can modify this period:

  1. In SmartPush, go to Settings from the left navigation menu.
  2. Scroll down to the SMS quiet hours settings section, and specify the start and end time of the period.

Note: When you create a marketing SMS automation flow, the quiet hours feature is enabled by default. It is recommended not to disable it to ensure customer experience and compliance.
