The Popups & Forms page under Data Analysis provides a centralized view of how your popups, forms, and related A/B tests perform in SmartPush. With overview metrics, detailed variant-level insights, and enhanced export capabilities, you can better evaluate engagement, optimize designs, and make data-driven decisions.
This article explains how to view popup and form performance data, interpret key metrics, and export results for further analysis.
What Is Popup & Form Data Analysis?
Popup and Form Data Analysis consolidates performance data for all popups, forms, and their A/B testing variants in one place. It helps you understand how different popup or form versions perform, which variants drive higher engagement or conversions, and overall trends across selected time periods. This data supports both ongoing optimization and post-test evaluation.
Accessing Popup & Form Performance Data
To access popup and form performance data:
- In SmartPush, go to Data Analysis > Popups and Forms.
- On this page you can view a list of all popups, forms, and A/B tests; review performance metrics at the variant level; and check the total number of records returned under current filters.
Understanding Performance Metrics
The following metrics are available when viewing popup and form performance data.
| Metric | Description | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Views | Total number of times the popup or form was displayed. | Existing |
| Clicks | Total number of times visitors clicked within the popup or form. | Existing |
| Click Rate | Clicks ÷ views. | Existing |
| Form Submissions (previously "Collected Information") | Total number of times visitors submitted the popup or form. | Renamed |
| Form Submission Rate | Form submissions ÷ views. | New |
| Orders (label previously "Order") | Number of orders attributed to the popup or form. | Renamed |
| Revenue | Total order value attributed to the popup or form. | Existing |
| Conversion Rate | Orders ÷ clicks. | New |
Metrics are displayed in the following order: Views; Clicks; Click Rate; Form Submissions; Form Submission Rate; Orders; Revenue; Conversion Rate.
| Note: Clicking Form Submissions or Form Submission Rate in the metrics overview navigates to the Form Submissions tab. Clicking Orders, Revenue, or Conversion Rate navigates to the Sales tab. |
Trend Charts
The performance trend chart is now split into two sections:
- Absolute values chart: shows Views, Clicks, and Form Submissions over time. The Y-axis displays counts.
- Rate chart: shows Click Rate, Form Submission Rate, and Conversion Rate over time. The Y-axis displays percentages.
Understanding A/B Testing Results
For popups and forms with A/B testing enabled, each variant's performance is tracked independently, allowing you to compare engagement and conversion effectiveness. At the end of an A/B test, the system can automatically identify a winning variant; you can also manually select a winner before the test concludes. Performance data remains available after the test for post-analysis and long-term optimization.
In the A/B test view, the testing period and full period tabs now include a Form Submission Rate column in the comparison list.
User Details Tab Names
The following tab names in the User Details section have been updated:
- "Collected Information" tab has been renamed to Form Submissions.
- "Revenue" tab has been renamed to Sales.
Exporting Popup & Form Data
The Export button is located at the same level as the filters and is fully linked to your current filter settings.
- If a Statistics Period is selected: Only data within that period is exported.
- If no Statistics Period is selected: Data is exported for the past 30 days by default (based on send time)
| Note: Hovering over the Export button shows reminders: export all filtered results (recommend narrowing the filter range for better performance); if send time is not selected, data will be exported for the past 30 days by default. |
Tips & Best Practices
- Review both ongoing and completed A/B tests to identify long-term trends.
- Narrow filter conditions before exporting large datasets to improve performance.
- Combine popup and form insights with other SmartPush data. (campaigns or automations) for a complete engagement analysis
- Regularly review record counts to confirm your filters are returning expected results.
