The Auto Discount block automatically displays a shopper's most recent valid discount code inside your SmartPush pop-up forms, without requiring you to add codes manually. It works for both known shoppers and anonymous visitors matched through SHOPLINE's identity-matching technology, pulling in any valid code they've received from email, pop-ups, or spin-to-win before pushing them toward checkout.
This guide explains how to add the Auto Discount block, how coupons are selected for display, and how to configure the number, layout, and style of coupons shown.

Prerequisites for the Auto Discount Block in SmartPush Pop-up Forms
Before you begin, make sure that your store is on SmartPush's Standard plan or above.
Adding the Auto Discount Block to Your Pop-up Form
To add the Auto Discount block to a pop-up form:
- Open the pop-up form editor for the form you want to update.
- Drag the Auto Discount block into your form layout.
- Confirm the block description shown in the editor: "This block automatically syncs the visitor's most recent valid discount code from email and pop-up events."
- Save your changes.
How the Auto Discount Block Selects Coupons to Display
The Auto Discount block looks back at the shopper's activity from the past 90 days to find valid discount codes. This works the same way whether the shopper is logged in or is an anonymous visitor matched through SHOPLINE's identity-matching technology. In both cases, the block checks the following sources:
- Discount codes sent by email
- Discount codes distributed through pop-ups
- Discount codes won through a pop-up spin-to-win
If a shopper qualifies for more than one valid code, duplicate codes are removed and the remaining codes are shown in random order.
Example: If a shopper has only 1 valid coupon and your maximum display setting is 4, the block shows that 1 coupon and adjusts its layout automatically. It does not hide the coupon or wait for more to appear.
If no valid coupon is found at all, the Auto Discount block hides itself and the pop-up adjusts to fill the space.

Frequently Asked Questions for using Auto Discount Block in Pop-up Forms
Q1: What happens if a shopper has fewer valid coupons than my maximum display setting?
The block shows however many valid coupons the shopper actually has, up to your maximum setting. For example, if you set the maximum to 4 but the shopper only has 1 valid coupon, only that 1 coupon is shown.
Q2: Does the Auto Discount block work differently for anonymous visitors?
No. Anonymous visitors matched through SHOPLINE's identity-matching technology follow the same 90-day lookback and coupon logic as logged-in shoppers. No new customer record is created during this process.
Q3: What happens if a shopper has no valid discount codes at all?
The Auto Discount block hides itself automatically, and the pop-up layout adjusts to fill the space.
