Steps to create segments
1. In SmartPush, go to [Contacts] > [Segments] to enter the segment list. Here, you can view all the created segments and recommended segments.
- Each segments in the list displays the total number of contacts in that segment, along with the last time the segment's conditions were updated.
- You can Edit, Copy, or Delete the segments.
2. Click Create segment to enter the segment creation page.
- Click Edit for the default segment to adjust its content and differentiate segments.
- Click + Add condition to open the segment condition list. You can choose from various filtering conditions based on your requirements.
- Adding a combination of conditions is supported. You can configurate "Add" or "Or" for each combination.
3. Once you complete adding the segment conditions, click Create segment to generate it.
- The segment detail page displays the historical data of the contacts and the contact list of the segment.
- The revelant data includes the following: Total number of cotacts, ialid emails, invalid emails, valid SMS contacts, invalid SMS contacts, average email delivery rates/ open rates/ click rates, and average SMS delivery rates/ failure rates.
4.Once the segment is generated, you can adjust the segmentation conditions and click Update segment to complete the update of the segments;
- When you click Update segment, SmartPush will display a list of automation tasks associated with the current segment in a pop-up. The tasks are arranged in descending order by update time.
- Meanwhile, you can switch on or off the toggle to decide whether to immediately bulk trigger the active automation tasks associated with the group for all contacts in the group upon updating the conditions.
- It should be noted that if you switch on the toggle, but the remaining amount of emails or SMS messages in your current plan is less than the amount required for group triggering, even if some contacts are triggered, the emails will not be sent successfully due to insufficient balance. At this moment, you can switch off the toggle and choose not to trigger the contacts in the segment. To ensure successful sending, you can upgrade the plan or top up the SMS message quota, switch on the toggle again, and update the segment.
Timing for updating segments
SmartPush will automatically filter users who meet the criteria based on the source data's updates and continuously update the segment's user list in real time.
How to apply segments
Segments can be applied to bulk send marketing campaigns and automated campaigns.
- For email marketing campaigns: You can select specific segments or exclude certain segments to customize email campaign content.
- For SMS marketing campaigns: You can select specific segments or exclude certain segments to customize SMS campaign content.
- For Automations - Segment triggers:
-
- You can set up automated tasks for users that are added to specific segments.
- Notes:
For a single store, whatever plan is purchased, you can set up multiple automation-group trigger tasks, but up to 10 tasks can remain active at a time.
When the number of active tasks with the trigger on contacts enter groups applied has reached 10, if you click Activate/ Update for a new automation task, SmartPush will remind you that the number of tasks has reached 10. When the upper limit is reached, you can choose to pause other tasks via the pop-up. Historical tasks are arranged in descending order by update time.
Select one or more historical tasks that you wish to close. After clicking Confirm to close, select the ways to pause the historical tasks and click Pause to temporarily stop the selected historical tasks and successfully start the current new task.
