SMS marketing allows you to reach customers quickly with time-sensitive promotions and updates. With SmartPush, you can send SMS campaigns to customers who have subscribed to receive SMS notifications from your store.
Because customers may subscribe to both email and SMS, we recommend planning your campaign frequency carefully. Avoid sending the same promotional content across multiple channels within a short period of time, as this may lead to unsubscribes or customer complaints.
This article walks you through the process of creating and sending an SMS campaign in SmartPush.

Writing SMS Content

Please note the following:
- Each SMS message is limited to 160 characters.
- The system will display the character count and message segments in the preview area.
-
You can preview how the message will appear on mobile devices.
Adding Links
If your message includes a link:
- Add a space before and after the link for better readability.
- SmartPush will automatically convert links into unique shortened URLs.
These shortened URLs:
- Reduce character usage
- Allow you to track link clicks in the campaign report
The preview panel shows the same shortened URL format that recipients will receive.
Compliance for Certain Regions
For recipients using phone numbers from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, or Australia, SmartPush will automatically apply compliance requirements based on local regulations.
These include:
-
Brand name prefix: The system automatically adds your store’s brand name at the beginning of the SMS.
You can edit the brand name in Brand Info settings.
| Note: Updating the store name will apply immediately to all unsent campaigns, so please modify it carefully. |
-
Opt-out message
The system automatically adds the message: Reply STOP to opt-out
When a recipient replies with STOP, SmartPush will automatically unsubscribe them from future marketing SMS messages.

After completing the SMS content:
- Click Save Draft if you want to finish the campaign later.
- Click Send Test to send a test message to a specific phone number.
To continue sending the campaign:
